Add services and prices to your AI receptionist

Help callers get useful price answers without losing the conditions, exclusions or need for a quote.

Written for the current guided pilot. Business scenarios and sample prices are fictional. Review every example before using it.

STEP 1

Write one clear entry per service

Give the name, what is included and the limits. “Move-out cleaning for houses and apartments; carpet shampooing is separate” is more useful than “all cleaning services.”

STEP 2

Choose the right kind of price

A fixed price covers a defined service. A starting price is a minimum with conditions. A range needs an explanation of what changes it. If you need to assess the work, say a quote is required.

  • Write USD or CAD, rather than only a dollar sign.
  • Keep any tax wording your business has approved with the price.
  • Explain extra charges, exclusions and when the team confirms the total.
  • Remove expired offers and conflicting prices elsewhere in your settings.

STEP 3

Let an unknown answer stay unknown

For an unlisted service or price, the receptionist should offer to collect the question for your team. Do not ask it to estimate a price from general knowledge.

FICTIONAL EXAMPLE · Austin, Texas · hair salon

A common problem, a clearer setup.

Callers hear a starting price and assume it covers every hair length and stylist.

Too vague

“Haircuts are $45.”

More useful

“A wash and cut starts at USD 45. The final price depends on hair length and stylist. Colour services are separate. The salon confirms the total before the appointment.”

Use this as a starting point. It does not change your saved settings.

YOUR NEXT TEST CALL

Say this. Then check what happened.

“Is 45 dollars the full price if I also want colour?”

What a useful result looks like

  • The starting price is identified as USD.
  • Colour is explained as separate.
  • The answer does not turn an example price into a guaranteed total.

If it does not work as expected

Put the price and its conditions in the same service entry. For a Canadian business, use its approved CAD prices; CallMinded subscription currency does not set the currency of your own services.

Check the saved request in your lead inbox as well as what you heard. Review recordings or transcripts only if they are enabled for your account.
