SETUP GUIDE

Keep your number. Choose which calls get help.

Forwarding routes calls from your existing business number to a service number. The right setup depends on your carrier and phone system, and is tested before a CallMinded pilot goes live.

Start with the forwarding rule.

Confirm availability, charges, ring duration and voicemail interaction with your provider. Forwarding does not change who owns your number.

Unanswered or busy calls

Conditional forwarding sends calls on when the configured condition is met. If you answer before no-answer forwarding takes effect, you handle that call yourself.

All incoming calls

Unconditional forwarding sends calls directly onward. Your original phone may no longer ring normally. Choose this only when it matches your intended setup.

After-hours coverage

Scheduled routing depends on your phone system or carrier. Business hours in CallMinded guide the conversation; they do not automatically schedule your carrier’s forwarding.

YOUR PHONE & PROVIDER

Use instructions for your actual line.

Mobile, landline and hosted business-phone services can use different rules. Avoid applying a dial code from another provider.

iPhone

Apple documents forwarding in Settings → Apps → Phone → Call Forwarding where supported. For conditional forwarding, ask your carrier for its setup instructions. Check the correct line if you use Dual SIM.

Android

Menu names and availability depend on the device and carrier. Use your provider’s instructions for your model and ask specifically for unanswered-call forwarding if you still want to answer first.

BEFORE ACTIVATION

Test the full path, including the way back.

  1. Record the setup. Confirm carrier, original number, assigned service number, forwarding condition and the exact revert steps.
  2. Call your original business number from another phone. Test answering it yourself, leaving it unanswered and any other configured condition. Check the correct business greeting and resulting dashboard request.
  3. Check interruptions and voicemail. Include busy calls where supported, screening, voicemail and caller-ID behavior. Calling the AI number directly does not prove forwarding works.
  4. Verify a safe fallback. Test what happens when the service is unavailable. Avoid routing a fallback or transfer into a number that forwards back to the same AI line.
  5. Test reverting before relying on it. Disable forwarding using your provider’s instructions and confirm calls reach the original phone or voicemail as intended. Pausing the app alone does not disable carrier forwarding.

Calls and texts are separate.

Voice call forwarding does not forward your SMS to CallMinded. iPhone Text Message Forwarding is a separate feature for your Apple devices. Customer texting is not included in the current pilot.

CallMinded activation follows a verified original-number test and an agreed fallback. This guide does not activate or change your phone service.
